Commercial edition of oracdc

Gearacles

formerly OraCDC Enterprise

Production-grade Oracle Change Data Capture backed by the team that builds oracdc. More than support: a commercial software product with its own release stream.

Why Gearacles

Community proves the technology. Gearacles makes it supportable.

oracdc Community solves Oracle CDC. It is a production-capable, open-source engine trusted to stream changes from Oracle databases into Apache Kafka. But when it becomes mission-critical infrastructure, feeding the pipelines your business runs on, your organization needs more than working software.

Gearacles adds what enterprise operation requires: a commercial license, vendor accountability, enterprise support with SLAs, a predictable release lifecycle, advanced operational capabilities, and configurations certified by the people who build the product.

What Gearacles includes

Six things the Community edition does not ship

No.ItemDetail
01Commercial licensingA proprietary commercial license with no AGPL obligations. Annual subscription with perpetual use rights for every version delivered during your active subscription; production never stops because a subscription lapses.
02Enterprise and enterprise-first featuresCapabilities focused on operating Oracle CDC at enterprise scale: management, diagnostics, and lifecycle automation, plus earlier access to selected new functionality before it reaches the Community edition.
03Enterprise support and SLAStandard and Premium support tiers with severity-based response objectives, priority issue handling, production troubleshooting, upgrade assistance, and direct escalation to the engineers who build the product.
04Long-term support releasesOptional LTS releases with security backports, critical bug fixes, and selected Oracle compatibility fixes, so you can standardize on a version instead of upgrading every few months. LTS terms are defined in your Order Form.
05Certified configurationsCombinations of Oracle Database, RAC, Java, Kafka, Linux, and Kubernetes versions tested and supported by A2 Solutions, not just reported compatible by the community.
06Secure private deliveryReleases are delivered through private GitHub repositories and a private container registry, with checksummed artifacts, a software bill of materials (SBOM), and full traceability to the Community baseline.

Support

Two support tiers, measured in covered hours

Support directly from the team that develops oracdc. Weekday business-hours coverage (8:00–17:00) in your designated time zone, U.S. Eastern or Central European; the tier is selected in your Order Form.

Standard support
4 covered hoursSeverity 1 initial response
  • Status updates every 4 covered hours on active critical incidents
  • Product defect investigation and workaround assistance
  • Hotfix eligibility
  • Root-cause analysis for confirmed Severity 1 product defects
Premium support
2 covered hoursSeverity 1 initial response
  • Priority engineering queue with direct escalation
  • Priority hotfix consideration and compatibility analysis
  • Upgrade planning and architecture/configuration review
  • Optional named escalation contact

When a critical issue occurs, your case is handled by the engineers who build the product, with no first-line support bureaucracy. For Severity 1 incidents the immediate priority is restoring production service through a fix, workaround, or mitigation, with permanent correction to follow. Extended coverage across both U.S. and European business hours is available by separate agreement. The full Support Policy is provided with your Gearacles agreement.

Licensing

How Gearacles licensing works

Gearacles is licensed as an annual subscription under the A2 Solutions Commercial Software License. During your active subscription you receive releases, hotfixes, enterprise capabilities, private registry access, and support.

Perpetual use rights

You keep the right to use every version delivered during your active subscription, permanently. Deployed software does not stop operating because a subscription expires.

HA, DR, and non-production included

Standby, disaster recovery, and non-production instances supporting a licensed production Oracle source are included unless otherwise specified in the Order Form.

Simple metric

Licensing is based on production Oracle sources, defined in a straightforward Order Form, not buried in legal text.

OEM and redistribution

Embedding Gearacles in your own commercial product is covered by a separate OEM agreement.

Looking for open source?

oracdc Community exists alongside Gearacles, not instead of it

oracdc Community is the open-source edition: a production-capable Oracle CDC engine available under AGPL-3.0+, publicly developed on GitHub.
